Vietnam Sleeper Bus Experience (Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City)

Vietnam Sleeper Bus Experience (Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City)

We took the sleeper bus from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

After experiencing the train, we wanted to try the bus to see how it compares. I made a rookie mistake and selected a seat in the far back thinking it was the front. I’d avoid picking either the far back right or left. The leg room is cut a bit short from the reclining seats directly in front. Plus, there are 5 connected seats in the back which would be tight if they’re all occupied. All the other seats are individual pods, which looked more comfortable.

There was no washroom on the bus, though we stopped a few times. Also, the attendant working on board let us know that if someone needed to stop, they would.

I preferred taking the train over the bus for a few reasons:

– There is much more room on the train (we were in a 4-berth) and had the ability to walk around.
– On the bus you obviously have to stay in your seat.
– The train had a washroom.
– The train is a slightly smoother ride.

Happy I took it…but next time I’ll fly.

Thanks for watching. I hope this video helps with your planning:)

    Hi Journey and Explore,

My name is Marek and I am working for a television production company based in London, UK called Kalel Productions where we are producing a new factual entertainment programme. We have come across a compelling video on your channel – Crazy House (Hang Nga Villa) – Things to do in Da Lat, Vietnam – we would really like to investigate the possibility of using some of this material in the programme. It would be great if you could confirm whether you are the owner of this clip, so I can tell you more. Please could you either reply to this message or you can email me at marek.czubala@kalelproductions.com

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Kind regards,
    Marek

Good point. A plane from anywhere, to anywhere else is under $100 USD, so…if pressed for time, and budgeting isn't a top concern…yea I'd take a plane next time. Also, the bus stopped three times for restroom breaks. Up till the previous day i had a nice case of travelers diarrhea…so…yea that wouldn't be a pleasant 9 hours for those with sensitive stomachs. Plane, or train next time, for sure.
